Farewell, all earthly treasures

Author: Anon. Appears in 22 hymnals Hymnal Title: The Seventh-Day Adventist Hymn and Tune Book Lyrics: 1 Farewell, all earthly treasure, I bid you all adieu; Farewell, all earthly honor, I want no more of you. I want my union grounded On God's eternal Son, Beyond the power of Satan, Where sin can never come. 2 I want my name engraven Among the righteous ones, Who see my Father's glory, And wear a starry crown. For these, the better riches, I'm willing to pass through All earthly tribulation, And count it my just due. 3 I'm willing to be cleansed, And bear the daily cross; I'm willing to be purged From every kind of dross. I see the fiery furnace, And feel its cleansing flame; The fruit of it is holy, The gold will still remain. 4 All earthly tribulation Is but a moment here; And O, if we are faithful, A crown of life we'll wear! We shall be pure and holy, And feed on angels' food, Rejoicing in bright glory Around the throne of God. Topics: The Christian Hymns for Social Worship Used With Tune: WEBB
