A Church established

Hymnal: PDIL1818 #CXXXIIb (1780) Meter: 8.6.8.6 First Line: No sleep nor slumber to his eyes Lyrics: 1 No sleep nor slumber to his eyes Good David would afford, 'Till he had found below the skies A dwelling for the Lord. 2 The Lord in Zion plac'd his name, His ark was settled there: To Zion the whole nation came To worship thrice a year. 3 But we have no such lengths to go, Nor wander far abroad; Where’er thy saints assemble now, There is a house for God. Pause. 2 Arise, O King of Grace, arise, And enter to thy rest! Lo! thy church waits with longing eyes Thus to be own'd and blest. 5 Enter with all thy glorious train, Thy spirit and thy word; All that the ark did once contain, Could no such grace afford. 6 Here, mighty God, accept our vows, Here let thy praise be spread; Bless the provisions of thy house, And fill thy poor with bread: 7 Here let the Son of David reign; Let God’s anointed shine; Justice and truth his court maintain, With love and pow'r divine. 8 Here let him hold a lasting throne, And as his kingdom grows, Fresh honors shall adorn his crown, And shame confound his foes. Repentance and Faith in the Blood of CHRIST

Hymnal: PDIL1818 #LIe (1780) Meter: 8.6.8.6 First Line: O God of Mercy, hear my call Lyrics: 1 O God of Mercy, hear my call, My loads of guilt remove, Break down this separating wall That bars me from thy love. 2 Give me the presence of thy grace, Then my rejoicing tongue Shall speak aloud thy righteousness, And make thy praise my song. 3 No blood of goats, nor heifers slain, For sin could e'er atone; The death of Christ shall still remain Sufficient and alone. 4 A soul opprest with sin's desert, My God will ne'er despise; A humble groan, a broken heart, Is our best sacrifice. Scripture: Psalm 51:14-17 Languages: English
