James Rowe
1865 - 1933 Author of ""Some Day," May Be Too Late" in The King of Glory Pseudonym: James S. Apple.
James Rowe was born in England in 1865. He served four years in the Government Survey Office, Dublin Ireland as a young man. He came to America in 1890 where he worked for ten years for the New York Central & Hudson R.R. Co., then served for twelve years as superintendent of the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society. He began writing songs and hymns about 1896 and was a prolific writer of gospel verse with more than 9,000 published hymns, poems, recitations, and other works.

DeLoss Smith
1875 - 1939 Person Name: De Loss Smith Composer of "[Some day you say, while Jesus pleads]" in The King of Glory Smith, DeLoss. (1875?--March 16, 1939, Missoula, Montana). Attended Eureka College, Illinois. Associated with William H. Boles and Charles Reign Scoville. Moved to New York City in 1907; director of music at Central Church, New York City, and Central Church, Des Moines, Iowa. Joined the music faculty at Columbia University, and in 1915 was elected to position of dean at the School of Music at the University of Montana at Missoula.
