It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord

Hymnal: Voices of Praise #390a (1883) Scripture: Psalm 92 Lyrics: 1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord: and to sing praises unto Thy Name O Most High. 2 To shew forth Thy lovingkindness in the morning: and Thy faithfulness every night. 3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery: upon the harp with a solemn sound. 4 For Thou, Lord, hast made me glad through Thy works: I will triumph in the works of Thy hands. 5 O Lord, how great are Thy works: and Thy thoughts are very deep. 6 A brutish man knoweth not: neither doth a fool understand this, 7 When the wicked spring as the grass and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish: it is that they shall be destroyed forever. 8 But Thou O Lord: art most high forevermore. 9 For lo Thine enemies O Lord: for lo Thine enemies shall perish. 10 For all the workers: of iniquity shall be scattered. 11 But my horn shalt Thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. 12 Mine eyes also shall see my desire on mine enemies: and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. 13 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 14 Those that he planted in the house of the Lord: shall flourish in the courts of our God. 15 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age: they shall be fat and flourishing. 16 To show that the Lord is upright: He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Refrain: No storm can shake my inmost calm while to that Rock I'm clinging. Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth, how can I keep from singing? 2 Through all the tumult and the strife, I hear that music ringing. It finds an echo in my soul. How can I keep from singing? [Refrain] 3 What though my joys and comforts die? The Lord my Savior liveth. What though the darkness gather round? Songs in the night he giveth. [Refrain] 4 The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart, a fountain ever springing! All things are mine since I am his! How can I keep from singing? [Refrain] Languages: English Tune Title: ENDLESS SONG

Oh what their joy and their glory must be

Author: Peter Abelard, 1079-1142; John Mason Neale, 1818-1866 Hymnal: The Book of Praise #608 (1997) Meter: 10.10.10.10 Scripture: Psalm 92 Lyrics: 1 Oh what their joy and their glory must be, those endless Sabbaths the blessed ones see, crowns for the valiant, to weary ones rest: God shall be all and in all ever blest. 2 Truly, "Jerusalem" name we that shore, city of peace that brings joy evermore; wish and fulfillment are not severed there, nor do things prayed for come short of the prayer. 3 There, where no troubles distraction can bring, we the sweet anthems of Zion shall sing, while for thy grace, Lord, their voices of praise thy blessed people eternally raise. 4 Now, in the meantime, with hearts raised on high, we for that country must yearn and must sigh, seeking Jerusalem, dear native land, through our long exile on Babylon's strand. 5 Low before God with our praises we fall, of whom, and in whom, and through whom are all; of whom, the Father, and through whom, the Son, in whom, the Spirit, with these ever One. The Man Is Ever Blessed

Author: Isaac Watts, 1674-1748 Hymnal: Lutheran Service Book #705 (2006) Meter: 6.6.8.6 Scripture: Psalm 92:12-14 Lyrics: 1 The man is ever blessed Who shuns the sinners' ways, Among their counsels never stands, Nor takes the scorners' place. 2 But makes the Law of God His study and delight Amid the labors of the day And watches of the night. 3 He like a tree shall thrive, With waters near the root; Fresh as the leaf his name shall live, His works are heav'nly fruit. 4 Not so the wicked race, They no such blessings find; Their hopes shall flee like empty chaff Before the driving wind. 5 How will they bear to stand Before the judgment seat Where all the saints at Christ's right hand In full assembly meet? 6 He knows and He approves The way the righteous go; But sinners and their works shall meet A dreadful overflow. Sweeter as the Years Go By

Author: L. N. M. Hymnal: Timeless Truths #840 Meter: 13.13.13.13.7.7.12.7 Scripture: Psalm 92:12-14 First Line: Of Jesus' love that sought me, when I was lost in sin Lyrics: 1 Of Jesus’ love that sought me, when I was lost in sin; Of wondrous grace that brought me back to His fold again; Of heights and depths of mercy, far deeper than the sea, And higher than the heavens, my theme shall ever be. Refrain: Sweeter as the years go by, Sweeter as the years go by, Richer, fuller, deeper, Jesus’ love is sweeter, Sweeter as the years go by. 2 He trod in old Judea life’s pathway long ago; The people thronged about Him, His saving grace to know; He healed the brokenhearted, and caused the blind to see; And still His great heart yearneth in love for even me. [Refrain] 3 ’Twas wondrous love which led Him for us to suffer loss, To bear without a murmur the anguish of the cross; With saints redeemed in glory, let us our voices raise, Till Heav’n and earth re-echo with our Redeemer’s praise. [Refrain] Topics: Experience Tune Title: [Of Jesus' love that sought me, when I was lost in sin]
