Owen is Minister of Music in the First Congregational Church, Portland, Connecticut. Born in Utica, New York, she has spent most of her life in New Haven, Connecticut. She attended the Hartt College of Music in Hartford for two years, and then went to the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where she received her bachelor of Music degree in 1955.
