Hull, 1860-1935 Hymnal: EH1982 #488 (1985) Meter: 10.10.9.10 Lyrics: 1 Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; all else be nought to me, save that thou art— thou my best thought, by day or by night, waking or sleeping, thy presence my light. 2 Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word; I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord; thou my great Father; thine own may I be; thou in me dwelling, and I one with thee. 3 High King of heaven, when victory is won, may I reach heaven's joys, bright heaven's Sun! Draw nigh and take the Body of the Lord

Author: John Mason Neale, 1818-1866 Hymnal: EH1982 #327 (1985) Meter: 10.10 Lyrics: 1 Draw nigh and take the Body of the Lord, and drink the holy Blood for you outpoured. 2 Saved by that Body and that holy Blood, with souls refreshed, we render thanks to God. 3 Salvation's giver, Christ, the only Son, by his dear cross and blood the victory won. 4 Offered was he for greatest and for least, himself the Victim, and himself the Priest. 5 Approach ye then with faithful hearts sincere, and take the pledges of salvation here. 6 He that his saints in this world rules and shields to all believers life eternal yields; 7 with heavenly bread he makes the hungry whole, gives living waters to the thirsting soul. 8 Alpha-Omega, unto whom shall bow all nations at the doom, is with us now. Refrain: Publish glad tidings: tidings of peace, tidings of Jesus, redemption and release. 2 Proclaim to every people, tongue, and nation that God, in whom they live and move, is Love; tell how he stooped to save his lost creation, and died on earth that all might live above. [Refrain] 3 Send heralds forth to bear the message glorious; give of thy wealth to speed them on their way; pour out thy soul for them in prayer victorious till God shall bring his kingdom's joyful day. [Refrain] 4 He comes again! O Zion, ere thou meet him, make known to every heart his saving grace; let none whom he hath ransomed fail to greet him, through thy neglect, unfit to see his face. Brightest and best of the stars of the morning

Author: Reginald Heber, 1783-1826 Hymnal: EH1982 #117 (1985) Meter: 11.10.11.10 Lyrics: 1. Brightest and best of the stars of the morning, dawn on our darkness, and lend us thine aid; star of the east, the horizon adorning, guide where our infant Redeemer is laid. 2. Cold on his cradle the dewdrops are shining, low lies his head with the beasts of the stall; angels adore him in slumber reclining, Maker and Monarch and Savior of all. 3. Shall we then yield him, in costly devotion, odors of Edom, and offerings divine, gems of the mountain, and pearls of the ocean, myrrh from the forest, or gold from the mine? 4. Vainly we offer each ample oblation, vainly with gifts would his favor secure, richer by far is the heart’s adoration, dearer to God are the prayers of the poor. 5. Brightest and best of the stars of the morning, dawn on our darkness and lend us thine aid; star of the east, the horizon adorning, guide where our infant Redeemer is laid.
