1832 - 1896 Person Name: W. S. McKenzie, D.D. Hymnal Number: 113 Author of "Cast Thy Burden on the Lord" in Select Songs No. 2 McKenzie, William Scott, D.D., son of Scottish parents, was born at Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Feb. 29, 1832. Entering the Baptist ministry, he held several pastorates until 1873, when he became district secretary for New England of the American Baptist Missionary Union. His hymn "Ye mortals come, adore the Lord" (Passiontide), is in The Canadian Baptist Hymnal, 1888. --John Julian, Dictionary of Hymnology, Appendix, Part II (1907) =============== McKenzie, W.
