Put thou thy trust in God

Author: Paul Gerhardt (1607-1676); John Wesley (1703-1791) Hymnal: Ancient and Modern #768a (2013) Meter: 6.6.8.6 Topics: Devotion Lyrics: 1 Put thou thy trust in God, in duty's path go on; walk in his strength with faith and hope, so shall thy work be done. 2 Commit thy ways to him, thy works into his hands, and rest on his unchanging word, who heaven and earth commands. 3 Though years on years roll on, his covenant shall endure; though clouds and darkness hide his path, the promised grace is sure. 4 Give to the winds thy fears; hope, and be undismayed: God hears thy sighs and counts thy tears; God shall lift up thy head. 5 Through waves and clouds and storms his power will clear thy way: wait thou his time; the darkest night shall end in brightest day. 6 Leave to his sovereign sway to choose and to command; so shalt thou, wondering, own his way, how wise, how strong his hand. Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 Languages: English Tune Title: DONCASTER

Take my life, and let it be

Author: Frances Ridley Havergal (1836-1879) Hymnal: Ancient and Modern #787a (2013) Meter: 7.7.7.7 Topics: Devotion Lyrics: 1 Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee; take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise. 2 Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love; take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for thee. 3 Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King; take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from thee. 4 Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold; take my intellect, and use every power as thou shalt choose. 5 Take my will, and make it thine: it shall be no longer mine; take my heart: it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne. 6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure-store; take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee. Scripture: Mark 12:41-44 Languages: English Tune Title: NOTTINGHAM
