Lord, from the Heart, and Depth of Woe

Appears in 1 hymnal Scripture: Psalm 130 Lyrics: 1. Lord from the Heart, and Depth of Woe, My Cry, to Thee, I send. 2. Hear, Lord, my Voice, and to my Pray'r, O let thine Ear attend. 3. Should'st thou, O Lord, observe our Crimes, Who could the Tryal bear ? 4. But there Forgiveness is with Thee, That thou may'st be our Fear. 5. My Soul doth for Jehovah wait; And I hope in his Word. 6. No Watch-men long for dawning Light, As my Soul for the Lord. 7. Let Isr'el trust in God, the Source Of all redeeming Grace; 8. Who will compleat Redemption grant, And all their Sins efface.

Out of the Deeps of dark Distress

Appears in 1 hymnal Scripture: Psalm 130 Lyrics: I. Out of the Deeps of dark Distress, The Deeps of Desperation, I cry to Thee, my God, for Grace, For Love and for Salvation. Father Almighty, should thine Eye Be strict to mark Iniquity, Oh! who could stand before Thee. II. But (Praise eternal to thy Name) Thou hast a Throne erected, A Glorious Throne of Grace, where Man Was never yet rejected. For Mercy is with Thee, our God; Thy Son has sealed with his Blood Our Pardon and Salvation. III. In Thee alone I put my Trust, Disclaiming all Self-Merit. O, Mighty, Merciful and Just, Thee I adore in Spirit. To thy blest Word full Trust I give: 'Tis my Support while yet I live; And will support me dying. IV. With more Impatience far than Those That languish for the Morning, I languish till Thou shalt disclose Thy Love to me returning. Ye Sons of ISRAEL, wait the Day; Wait till th' Almighty shall display His Mercy and his Blessing. V. On's Mercy-Seat he issues out, For Sins, on Sins, Remission: There All's forgiven and forgot; For CHRIST makes Intercession. He turns our Feet from sinful Ways. Oh, endless is his Love and Praise. By Him is ISRAEL saved. Topics: Repentance Used With Tune: [Out of the Deeps of dark Distress]

Sunk in the depths of woe, to thee I cried

Appears in 1 hymnal Scripture: Psalm 130 Lyrics: 1 Sunk in the depths of woe, to thee I cried, On thee, my God, in all my griefs relied; 2 "O hear me, Lord; attend my humble pray'r; "The sad complainings of thy servant hear. 3 "If thou, vindictive, not our crimes forgive, Ah! who can bear the dread award and live? 4 "But still, our hearts to gratitude to move, "Thy dear, thy darling attribute is love. 5 "In thy sure word my only hope I place, "And wait the mercy of thy promis'd grace. 6 "As longs the watchman for the morning light, "Tir'd with the tedious duty of the night; "My anguish'd soul, o'erwhelm'd in misery, "Asks for thy presence, Lord, and burns for thee." 7 Hope in the Lord, ye just; his mercy still Redeems from woe, when we obey his will; 8 From all her crimes the spotted soul he'll clear, Disperse each danger, and dispel each fear.
