Now thank we all our God

Author: M. Rinkart (1586-1649); Catherine Winkworth (1827-1878) Hymnal: Hymns for Today's Church (2nd ed.) #33b (1987) Meter: 6.7.6.7.6.6.6.6 Topics: Christ the Healer Lyrics: 1 Now thank we all our God with hearts and hands and voices; such wonders he has done! in him the world rejoices. He, from our mothers’ arms, has blessed us on our way with countless gifts of love, and still is ours today. 2 So may this generous God through all our life be near us; to fill our hearts with joy, and with his peace to cheer us; to keep us in his grace, and guide us when perplexed; and free us from all ills in this world and the next. 3 All praise and thanks to God who reigns in highest heaven, to Father and to Son and Spirit now be given: this one eternal God, whom heaven and earth adore, is he who was, is now, and shall be evermore. We give God thanks for those who knew

Author: Michael Perry (born 1942) Hymnal: Hymns for Today's Church (2nd ed.) #318 (1987) Topics: Christ the Healer Lyrics: 1 We give God thanks for those who knew the touch of Jesus' healing love; they trusted him to make them whole, to give them peace, their guilt remove. 2 We offer prayer for all who go relying on his grace and power, to help the anxious and the ill, to heal their wounds, their lives restore. 3 We dedicate our skills and time to those who suffer where we live, to bring such comfort as we can to meet their need, their pain relieve. 4 So Jesus' touch of healing grace lives on within our willing care; by thought and prayer and gifts we prove his mercy still, his love we share.
