Here, O my Lord, I see thee face to face

Author: Horatius Bonar, 1808-1889 Meter: 10.10.10.10 Appears in 315 hymnals Scripture: Isaiah 61:10 Lyrics: 1 Here, O my Lord, I see thee face to face; here would I touch and handle things unseen, here grasp with firmer hand the eternal grace, and all my weariness upon thee lean. 2 Here would I feed upon the bread of God, here drink with thee the royal wine of heaven; here would I lay aside each earthly load, here taste afresh the calm of sin forgiven. 3 Mine is the sin, but thine the righteousness; mine is the guilt, but thine the cleansing blood; here is my robe, my refuge, and my peace — thy blood, thy righteousness, O Lord, my God. 4 I have no help but thine; nor do I need another arm save thine to lean upon; it is enough, my Lord, enough indeed; my strength is in thy might, thy might alone. 5 Too soon we rise; the symbols disappear; the feast, though not the love, is past and gone; the bread and wine remove, but thou art here, nearer than ever, still our shield and sun. 6 Feast after feast thus comes and passes by, yet, passing, points to the glad feast above, giving sweet foretaste of the festal joy, the Lamb's great bridal feast of bliss and love. There is a fountain filled with blood

Author: Cowper Meter: 8.6.8.6 Appears in 2,474 hymnals Scripture: Isaiah 61:10 Lyrics: 1 There is a fountain filled with blood, Drawn from Immanuel's veins; And sinners, plunged beneath that flood, Lose all their guilty stains. 2 The dying thief rejoiced to see That fountain in his day; And there have I, as vile as he, Washed all my sins away. 3 Dear, dying Lamb! thy precious blood Shall never lose its power, Till all the ransomed church of God Be saved, to sin no more. 4 E'er since, by faith, I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme, And shall be till I die. 5 Then, in a nobler, sweeter song, I'll sing thy power to save, When this poor, lisping, stammering tongue Lies silent in the grave. O Worship the King

Author: Robert Grant (1779-1838) Meter: 10.10.11.11 Appears in 1,143 hymnals Scripture: Isaiah 61:10-11, 62:1-5 First Line: O worship the King, all glorious above Lyrics: 1 O worship the King, all glorious above; O gratefully sing his power and his love; our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days, pavilioned in splendour and girded with praise. 2 O tell of his might, O sing of his grace, whose robe is the light, whose canopy space; his chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form, and dark is his path on the wings of the storm. 3 The earth with its store of wonders untold, Almighty, thy power hath founded of old, hath stablished it fast by a changeless decree, and round it hath cast, like a mantle, the sea. 4 Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite? It breathes in the air; it shines in the light; it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain, and sweetly distils in the dew and the rain. 5 Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail, in thee do we trust, nor find thee to fail; thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end, our maker, defender, redeemer, and friend. 6 O measureless Might, ineffable Love, while angels delight to hymn thee above, the humbler creation, though feeble their lays, with true adoration shall sing to thy praise. Topics: Adoration; Praise of God; Repentance Used With Tune: HANOVER
