Davis, William T., born at Plymouth [U.S.A.], in 1822, educated at Harvard College, and is a lawyer by profession. His quasi American National Hymn was written for the 250th Anniversary of the Landing of the Pilgrim Fathers at Plymouth, Massachusetts, Dec. 21, 1870. It begins, "To Thee, O God, Whose guiding hand."
