Staff Snapshot: Dianne Shapiro

Dianne Shapiro is one of the longest-serving members of the Hymnary staff, having been with the site almost since its inception. She came to Hymnary after working for many years in libraries (she has a master’s degree in Library and Information Science) and her unofficial title is "Hymnary Guru!"

Much of her work involves entering hymnals, but during that process, she has also helped in invaluable ways to shape the guidelines and procedures involved in adding and editing hymnals. And she has a keen eye for how the website should operate based on both her experience and suggestions received by our users and volunteers. 

Finally, she responds to a wide variety of questions and comments that are emailed to us and appear on our forums, including a lot of questions about copyrights. Dianne has lived in Grand Rapids for most of her life and appreciates the impact of Hymnary on hymn scholars, worship leaders and ordinary hymn lovers from around the world.
