111. Shall It Be You?

1 Someone is thinking he ought to be saved,—
Is almost persuaded tonight;
But, without warning, will be summoned away,
‘Mid wrongs he can never make right.

Refrain:
Shall it be you?
Shall it be You?
Who, at death’s portals will still be untrue,
And at the last, would give worlds to undo?
Shall it? O shall it be you?

2 Someone expects to let Jesus come in,
But waiting for some other day;
Sooner or later the angel will come,
And find him from God far away. [Refrain]

3 Someone is hearing of Jesus this hour,—
Is almost persuaded to yield;
But he replies to the Spirit, “Not now,”
And goes to the doom he has sealed. [Refrain]
