18. Song of the Creche

Sing of a stable built on a hill,
animals waiting, quiet and still,
next to a manger fragrant with hay,
ready to welcome Jesus their way.

Refrain:
Sing Noel! Sing Noel!
Lift up your voice!
Come now to Bethlehem,
come and rejoice!

Sing of young Mary, weary and worn,
knowing that Jesus soon would be born,
seeking in Joseph’s tender embrace
strength to bring forth her child of God’s grace.
Refrain

Sing of the shepherds watching their sheep
out on the hillside, rugged and steep,
listening to heaven’s glorious song,
trusting an angel never is wrong.
Refrain

Sing of the wise men scanning the sky,
spying the star-sign shining on high,
starting their journey, led by that star,
bringing to Jesus gifts from afar.
Refrain

Sing of the baby, sweet little boy,
laid in a manger, welcomed with joy.
Sing of the Savior he will become.
His name is Jesus, God’s promised one.
Refrain
