35. On The Other Side

1 On the other side is a land of wonder,
Watered by unfailing streams;
There the parted meet, torn by death asunder,
Oh, how near it sometimes seems.

Chorus:
On the other side of the rolling tide
We shall meet and sing with the glorified;
We shall see the Lord and be satisfied!
Ev'rything will be all right on the other side.

2 Rest and home are there for the worn and weary
Bearing earthly burdens long;
Burst of radiant morn after night time dreary,
Welcome to the white-robed throng. [Chorus]

3 Eagerly we look, but our eyes are holden,
Listening, we fail to hear,
Things our God prepares in that city golden,
Only faith can bring them near. [Chorus]

4 Linger we awhile in the place of duty,
Just a little more of prayer,
Then to fly away to that land of beauty,
And the joys that wait us there. [Chorus]

5 Life and love are there far beyond our knowing,
Pleasures unalloyed with pain,
Harvesting with joy after tearful sowing,
Losses recompensed with gain. [Chorus]
