Text: | Back to Pentecost |
Author: | Mrs. C. H. Morris |
Tune: | [‘I will not leave you comfortless,’] |
Composer: | Mrs. C. H. Morris |
1 “I WILL not leave you comfortless,”
But if I go away,
Will send the Holy Comforter,
Your royal Guest for evermore,
Abiding day by day.
Refrain:
Has He come to you, to you, to you?
Has the Comforter come to you? …
The Lord will reprove the world of Sin,
When the Comforter comes to you. …
2 Church of the Living God, arise
The fulness to receive;
Until the lost in every place,
Shall feel the need of saving grace,
And shall on Christ believe.
3 God’s skies are full of Pentecosts,
For you, for me, for all;
Then let us humbly, boldly press,
Our heritage in Christ possess,
That power from heaven may fall.
4 Then quickly “back to Pentecost,”
That blessed upper room;
And pray the mighty Lord of Hosts
To send on us the Holy Ghost,
And tarry till He come.
