178. The Lord is King

1 The Lord, our God, is King! Let earth rejoice,
And praise His holy name with heart and voice;
Let mountains, plains and seas His might proclaim;
Let all things which have breath extol His fame;
The Lord, our God is King, and shall forever reign!
His glory and His greatness ne’er shall wane;
Triumphant conq’ror He, upon His throne.
Our Lord is God, and He is God alone.

Refrain:
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The Lord is King, the Lord is King,
The Lord is King, the Lord is King,
Hallelujah!

2 The Lord, our God, is King! Almighty He,
He speaks the word and nations cease to be;
All things must work according to His will;
When He commands, the winds and waves are still;
The Lord, our God, is King, all holy, just and true,
Who sinful, ruined men doth make anew;
His love unfathomed is and ne’er can fail;
For us o’er sin and death He doth prevail. [Refrain]

3 The Lord, our God, is King! Let joyful praise
From heart and mind ascend through all our days;
Let all mankind exalt His gracious name;
Let every tongue His wondrous love proclaim;
The Lord, our God, is King! Let earth rejoice and sing,
And to Him tribute and devotion bring;
Believe, confess and live for Him alone;
Our Savior Lord and God o’er all we own. [Refrain]
