1 Speed away; speed away; ‘tis the mandate of God
That the heralds of grace bear His message abroad,
For He looks with compassionate love on the race,—
And He bids you away with the story of grace—
There is sorrow untold for each thoughtless delay—
Speed away; speed away; speed away.

2 Speed away; speed away; ev’ry moment they fall,
Tho’ the Lord sends the message of grace to them all,
And their hearts are awaiting the coming of light,
Yet they grope and they die in the darkness of night.
O, be thou unto them as the dawning of day,—

3 Speed away; speed away; in the Master’s own name;
Speed away the sweet gospel of life to proclaim,
Speed away with the beautiful message of love,
And the people shall turn to their Father above,
There is no time to waste, for the call is today,—
