Text: | A New Creation |
Author: | Flora Kirkland |
Tune: | [Jesus on Calvary died for all] |
Composer: | I. H. Meredith |
1 Jesus on Calvary died for all,
Paying the ransom for a ruined race,
Died as our Substitute, heard our call,
Came in the fulness of his boundless grace.
Refrain:
Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creation.
Old things have passed away,
Old things have pass away, behold!
all things have become new.
2 Since he so tenderly bore our shame,
We, whom he purchased, have a duty clear;
All things henceforth should be “in his name;”
New, pure and beautiful should life appear. [Refrain]
3 Newly created by pow’r divine,
Walking in newness is his will for me;
Help me, I ask of thee, Savior mine,
Help me to cling more closely unto thee. [Refrain]
